The article describes the influence of the geometry of the support system for axial movement of the typical rotary drum. Characterized in details in the publication the relations describing the influence of vertical and horizontal skews of support rollers’ axes in relation to the axis of the live ring on the value and direction of the generated forces. The mathematical description in author's opinion states the model of the first stage - the so-called purely geometric model. In addition, were presented the guidelines for support rollers’ positions adjustments for the given directions of rotation. The author proves that the skew of the roller can be, despite of the stability of its position, the variable value, depending on the instantaneous position of the local axis of rotation of the ring (depending on its axial run out).
