The paper presents a method of calculation of the radial deformation of the live ring using the finite deformable element method. Calculations were made for the interstitial load models expressed by continuous and concentrated load. Analyzed the influence of the type of rolling contact between the ring and the shell of the drum to the nature of the deformation of the ring and the value of the internal bending moments. The results were compared with those obtained by other authors on an analytical way.
