The article presents comparison of classical method of rotary drum shell's state evaluation by its run-out measurements with method enriched by dynamic shafts' deflection analysis. Contents show the second as indispensable and only proper, especially in the case of three or more numbers of supports. Example analysis of dynamic shafts' deflections, data handling and results' interpretation are made on the basis of real object, showing at the same time general methodology of proceedings.
