The diagnosis of rotary equipment includes its dynamics examination in order to
detect operational irregularities caused, among others thing, by: unbalance of rotational
element, incorrect relative location of mating parts axes, bearing damage or wear,
incorrect selection of machine rigidity characteristics or machine foundation, backlash
in kinematic chain, incorrect lubrication, cavitation, etc. The analysis of rolling
bearings condition includes comparison of vibration spectrum with the ideal spectrum
specified for the bearing by the manufacturer. This enables establishment of the
most probable degree of wear. Vibration diagnosis of low rotation speed machines
is conducted based on wide frequency band vibration analysis methods using continuous
and discrete wavelet transforms.
